"Gift of the Eagle Feather" by Craig Tennant

The image of the Indian brave receiving a feather from an eagle, in the Cherokee District logo, is a cutout from the above painting, "Gift of the Eagle Feather" by Craig Tennant. This image is copyrighted and used with the permission of the artist.
Mr. Tennant was commissioned to create this painting for a collector plate series. The series was based on Indian legends. It is our understanding that the legend, depicted by this painting, is that the eagle will only present a feather to the bravest and truest of Indian braves.
That sounds very much like our Eagle Scout rank, doesn't it? Only the truest and most deserving Boy Scouts will earn the Eagle Scout rank. That is why we believe this is such a great image for the Cherokee District logo.
